Combat Matrix

Here is a link to a good visual representation of which units are good for fighting based on what you're facing.  On the left is the troop you will be facing.  On the top is your units.  An "X" is a bad match-up for you.  A green check is a good match-up for you.  The other are about even.

Looking at this has already helped me determine which units to use, especially when facing a mix of enemy troops.  And, it as helped my success rate!

Ancient Wonder Club rules

The purpose of our Ancient Wonder Club (AWC) is to help our fellowship members grow their Ancient Wonders (AW) quickly. Which in turn will help their cities grow quickly.

The rules of our AWC:
  • The AWC is open to any of our fellowship members
  • Joining it is completely voluntary
  • If you do not join the AWC, you are not required to follow these rules
  • Each AWC member will get a full week, on a rotating basis, for their chosen AW to be worked on by all the other members
  • Each member of the AWC must donate a minimum of 5 Knowledge Points (KPs) a week to whoever the active member is for that week
  • If the active AWC member's AW is finished within the week, it is still their active week. So the AWC will move onto another of their AW's for the rest of the week. The new AW will be whatever they request. If an AWC member has already donated to the original AW, they are not required to donate to the second AW.

The idea behind the rules to allow each AWC member to receive an entire week of help. This way, each member whether they have a low-level AW or a high-level one, will receive the same amount of time. And, it makes it easier to know which AWC member we are currently helping. Our weeks will run from Monday through Sunday.

Members can donate KPs to whoever they want, both in and out of the fellowship, as long as they are donating the minimum to the active member each week.

While you are only required to donate a minimum of 5 KPs a week, it is encouraged for members to donate more if they can. It will help all of us out in the long run!

Shortcut keys and making neighborly visits faster

If you're like me, using the keyboard can often be easier than running around the screen, clicking on everything.  So here is a link to a list of shortcut keys for the game that will help:

Shortcut Keys

Using these keys, I have found a way to make doing all of my neighborly visits much faster!  By the way - I didn't come up with this, but I used something I saw and made it my own.  Feel free to do the same!

Click on the "F" key - this brings up the Fellowship window

Click on the first member's green "home" icon to go to their city

Immediately after clicking the green icon, while the city is loading, click on the "E" key - this will activate neighborly help which will show you which buildings can be helped.  This is also good, as while the city is loading, you can see the little white stars better to see if they have any spells on buildings.  Now click on whichever building you are going to help - BE SURE that it corresponds to whatever help they are asking for in their title!  Collect any reward.

As soon as you're done, click the "F" key again.  This brings up the Fellowship window, and you can start all over again.

This has shaved off minutes doing visits in large fellowships!  And since we will grow that size - it will help all of us!

Update on Menhirok's Duty

Just so everyone knows - Quest #16 actually requires the following:

Produce 3 Tier1 1-day productions
Produce 3 Tier1 2-day productions

Just so everyone knows ahead of time!

New Event - Menhirok's Duty

There's a new event starting tomorrow (today) May 8th, and running until May 21st.  It's called Menhirok's Duty.  Here's the official announcement:

And here is something I got from my fellowship on Winyandor:

Get your spell going now!  Good luck everyone!

AWC Rotation List

While updating and changing the webpage, I somehow lost the AWC membership and rotation list post.  So I will have to go back and reconstruct it.  As I of right now, it goes something like:

alyann - Golden Abyss
ScandalousLadyBug - Endless Excavation
matticus1181 - Martial Monestary
sheeplady4558 - Golden Abyss
Lanthum - Golden Abyss

AWC Rotation for 5/1 - 5/7

AWC, for the week of 5/1 - 5/7, we are working on:

ScandalousLadyBug's Endless Excavation

The Endless Excavation provides tools every 24 hours, and extra relics for every completed province.  To give a comparison of how good the Ancient Wonder is, at level 5 it gives 5% of your town hall's maximum tool capacity per day, and 1 extra relic per province.

How does that compare to your workshops?  If your town hall was level 10, with a max cap. of 160,000 tools, the Endless Excavation would give you 8000 tools per day.  That would be the equivalent of a level 7 workshop boosted to 150%!  And that doesn't even include the relics it gives, or the fact that it doesn't cost population or culture!  That's a pretty good building!

Basic Help and Link for Chapter 6 - Dwarves

I know some of our members are either in, or near, Chapter 6 - Dwarves.  So I thought I would start digging up some good info and tips to post for everyone.  If you've been through Dwarves already, and you have some knowledge to share - please post it!  We need to help each other.  And if you have any questions, post those.  We'll try and find an answer together!

Here's a link to a pretty good explanation for those not yet in the chapter, as well as some tips to help you along the way!

I also thought this short explanation was helpful!
